5 Super Effective Tips To Kill Depression

by Michael Lee

Being lonely is a normal part of our everyday lives. We get sad when we fail in our exams, when we're rejected by the person we love, or when someone very close to us passes away. Depression, however, could be more fatal than just plain loneliness. It could render life-long consequences that could ruin your self-esteem, health, and well-being.

Here are some superb tips to conquer the melancholy mood and get the most bliss out of your daily activities.

1) Get Enough Light and Sunshine. Lack of exposure to sunlight is responsible for the secretion of the hormone melatonin, which could trigger a dispirited mood and a lethargic condition.

Melatonin is only produced in the dark. It lowers the body temperature and makes you feel sluggish. If you are always cooped up in your room (with the curtains closed), it would be difficult to restrain yourself from staying in bed.

This is the reason why many people are suffering from depression much more often in winter than in the other seasons. It's because the nights are longer.

If you can't afford to get some sunshine, you can always lighten up your room with brighter lights. Have lunch outside the office. Take frequent walks instead of driving your car over short distances.

2) Get Busy. Get Inspired. You'll be more likely to overcome any feeling of depression if you are too busy to notice it. Live a life full of inspired activities.

Do the things you love. If you're a little short on cash, you could engage in simple stuffs like taking a leisurely stroll in the park, playing sports, reading books, or engaging in any activity that you have passion for and would love to pursue.

Set a goal - a meaningful purpose in life. No matter how difficult or discouraging life can be, remain firm and have an unshakable belief that you are capable of doing anything you desire. With this kind of positive attitude, you will attain a cheerful disposition to beat the blues.

3) Take a Break. I mean it. Listen to soothing music. Soak in a nice warm bath. Ask one of your close friends to massage you. Take a break from your stressful workload and spend the day just goofing around. In other words, have fun.

4) Eat Right and Stay Fit. Avoid foods with lots of sugar, caffeine, or alcohol. Sugar and caffeine may give you a brief moment of energy; but they would later bring about anxiety , tension, and internal problems. Alcohol is a depressant. Many people would drink alcohol to "forget their problems." They're just aggravating their conditions in the process.

Exercising regularly is a vital depression buster because it allows your body to produce more endorphins than usual. Endorphins are sometimes called "the happy chemicals" because of their stress-reducing and happiness-inducing properties.

5) Get a Social Life. No man is an island. Your circle of friends are there to give you moral support. Spending time and engaging in worthwhile activities with them could give you a very satisfying feeling. Nothing feels better than having group support.

Never underestimate the power of touch. Doesn't it feel so good when someone pats you on the back and gives you words of encouragement during your most challenging times? Hug or embrace someone today. You'll never know when you have saved another life.

Get intimate. Establish close ties with your family and friends. The love and care expressed by others could tremendously boost your immune system and fend off illnesses. Best of all, you'll live a more secured and happy life.

A Journey of Circles

By Hieu Doan

Becoming masters of our own spiritual destiny requires just that - that we be masters. This means moving our consciousness more and more in the direction of listening to our own inner voice, developing our psychic senses, knowledge and wisdom - all the faculties that provide us with the ability to make our own choices. It’s about being responsible for our own choices, progress, knowledge and intuiting. It means being in control of seeking.

It’s important to differentiate between learning and acknowledging teachers and placing all our faith in teachers and outside knowledge. It needs to be remembered that all beings have their own path and even when this path is one of teaching and sharing knowledge, it is expressed in a particular way that is specific to that being’s own journey. Tools and techniques can be given and knowledge can be imparted on how to integrate information, however the feeling of it must be done and experienced ourselves.

Furthermore it is the actual process of learning to trust our own power and wisdom that opens the way for communication and a relationship with our true self. During this process we develop the ability to listen and speak, mutual trust born from learning to give and take and understanding and respect.

For a “teacher” to transcend their own ego’s need for adoration from students they must recognize that a “student” is only passing through. In this the teacher gains the opportunity to confront their own ego at the juncture where it is most powerful and in moving through the illusion of this power they find real empowerment.

At the same time as the student learns that no teacher or being can bring them liberation if they do not take the steps themselves, the teacher is also learning that no student or being can bring them power if they do not realize this power themselves. This journey of learning is a weaving and twisting, shape shifting movement of mind, body and spirit that at its depths reveals the true teacher which is always within ourselves. In looking for the lessons in every moment and place we follow the leads, the flows and spaces and find this inner teacher. For a time consciousness makes sense. Then it is lost as a new expansion occurs and the grasping mind recognizes that the unknown has met what was for a time familiar.

Stretching the mind once again we come to know the unknown intimately and once again there is integration. This weave of chaos becoming order then back again is a gift that allows us to understand the real essence of integration, unity and connectedness. The journey at times may seem infinite, but realization occurs to the one taking the journey, not the journey itself. As our consciousness learns to see itself, it begins to understand that each step has removed a thread of division that separates perception from truth. The journey has come full circle.

Living The Law of Love

by John Payne

Greetings beloved ones, this is Omni. We have come to you at this time to share with you the most important universal law. We seek to explain to you the Law of Love and how you can apply it.

Many of you aspire to the state of un-conditional love, but in practice it evades most of you. Central to the law of Love is allowing. Firstly allowing yourself, then be allowing of all others and their creations and thoughts. Love is the total and complete acceptance of what is, that is love in its simplest definition. Even simpler yet, we can define love as allowing.

You receive Universal energy moment by moment, for there is a constant flow of this creative and powerful energy at all times. Your ability to use this energy for the purposes of creating the life that you want to live, is very much dependant upon your ability to allow. This is not only about the ability to receive, but it also means living in non-judgment, meaning allowing yourself to be who and what you are in each moment, and allowing others to be who and what they are.

The reason why most of you get tied up in non-allowing, is that you believe that in some way that another can influence your experience, influence your life. This is not so. No one can influence your life unless you have invited him or her to do so. You do not need to invite them consciously, but as you believe it and think it, so it is. If you believe that others can influence your life negatively, then so it is. If you believe that you cannot be happy until this or that changes, then so it is, if you believe that you cannot find peace until this or that circumstance changes, then so it will be. Each thought that you offer to the Universe draws to you the object of your attention. Whatever it is that you are focusing on not only comes into your experience, but it also grows.

Through practicing the law of love, which is un-conditional allowing, you are in fact acknowledging that you are the creator of your life experience. As you allow others to be who they wish to be, you are in turn allowing yourself to receive more of the delicious life force energy that is flowing to you.

Love is all about allowing others to create the experience that they are having, and knowing that you have the power to create the experience that you are wanting. It means that no matter what they are saying about the economy or world affairs, that you can create your own island of wealth and peace. You create your own experience, and participating in the mass beliefs that do not serve your joy and inner being is a choice. We do not suggest that you withdraw from the world because it is a ‘bad place’, but rather, to set the example through focusing only on that which you find to be good and uplifting and through not being influenced by the general fears of the masses. Do not judge your fellow man or woman for not being ’spiritual’ or positive enough. All beings are spiritual beings, whether they know it or not. All beings have had many lifetimes, whether they know it not. Your task is to live a life of joy. If in the process you are able to share your vision of the world and of your experience with another, then do so. But do not think badly of them if they do not see your point of view. A point of view is exactly that. Truth is individual, and how you experience the world or even peanut butter, is quite different to how another experiences it. Each time you move into the lack of allowing, you stop the flow life force energy through your system. Not only does this take you further away from your source, from your inner self, it also makes it more difficult for you to create that which you are wanting.

You may feel, because you are on the spiritual path, that it is your duty to inform others of your insights. Do so only with their asking and offer only when they seek guidance or your thinking. However, let them be, allow all to be who they are. Honor the love and light within them because they, like you, are perfect as you are. Many of you still believe that you are here to prove yourself worthy of God, that in some way you are lacking and that you are here to gain that which is missing. It is not like this at all. There is no higher authority for you to measure up to, only the ability to follow your inner desires. The work that you came to do in this lifetime was to master the law of love, to master the art of allowing. Allow all to be in their experience, even that which offends you. It does not mean that you need to allow those who offend you to violate your boundaries, but we would encourage to ask how it is that you drew these people into your experience. For everything in your experience has been brought there by way of attraction and it is your thinking that attracts.

That which you do not allow is brought into your experience purely for the purposes of releasing it. You see, the Universe does not understand yes and no, it only understands focus. Therefore a strong sense of not allowing concerning this or that, is focus in its own right. Therefore that which you are not allowing will be drawn unto you. The reaction that most of you have to those things that you do not allow is to resist them, to try to push them away. This in turn is even more focus on exactly that which you do not want, therefore, even more of the same thing is being drawn into your life because that is where your focus is.

Allow yourself to be who you are right here and now. You are perfect in all your ways, perfect and lovable exactly as you are. You are not complete, just as the Universe in not complete, for experience creates learning and more desire for experience and learning, and so it goes on into infinity. No one in this Universe is complete, but all are perfect. Many of you get into the mode of not allowing because you are imagining that enlightenment or spiritual awakening is a defined finishing point. Indeed, it is not dear ones — there is no end, just many, many new beginnings. We invite you not to look at the end result, but to enjoy the journey with its wondrous unfolding and revelation. You are here to create a life of joy, nothing more, nothing less. Find that which gives you joy and do it, and allow all others to be exactly as they are, and give that gift to yourself too!

The Power of Awareness

by Ginny Grey

Being your authentic self, feeling the power of life flowing through you and viewing the outer world with nonattachment puts you into the place of awareness itself. Awareness is empowering as it allows you to see yourself and the world as they really are, without filters, expectations, and judgments.

By simply being aware of what you are thinking, feeling and experiencing in any given moment without trying to change it, you relax and accept what is. You soften, you let go of trying to control everything and everyone, and you move deeper into your true nature. This is the place where peace and power meet.

With awareness you know where the boundaries lay between you and others; which emotions are yours and which belong to someone else, who's problems are who's responsibility,...... what you want versus what someone else wants for you. With awareness you know what your truth is and what is a lie; whether the beliefs you've been carrying are based on your highest truth or on the conditioning and programming you've been raised with.

Awareness allows you to see the bigger picture, to know who you really are, to let go of what is not you, to change what is not supporting you anymore, and to create and manifest what you truly want to have in your life. Are you ready to open your inner eyes and be more aware?

Insights

* On average, how much awareness do you have of your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions? If you were to rate your level of awareness on a scale of one to ten, with one being almost no awareness and ten being full awareness how would you rate each of those areas?

* Do you react to life's events, circumstances and other people's behaviors or do you stop to notice what is really going on before you respond? What triggers you into a reactive mode? What supports you in being non-reactive yet responsive?

* How does being aware of your thoughts, emotions, sensations, judgments, reactions, beliefs and so forth support you in life? Where would it benefit you to bring more awareness into your life?

Inspiration

* Bring all of your awareness into this present moment. See, hear and smell everything that is around you. Become aware of what you are thinking. Connect with the sensations in your body. Tune into the emotions you are feeling at this moment. Notice if you are trying to avoid a feeling or create a certain feeling. Without changing anything, just sit for five minutes in the pure state of awareness; noticing, witnessing and observing what is going on around you and within you.

* Close your eyes and bring your awareness fully to your inner experience. Notice your breathing, the sensations in your body, any emotions wanting attention. Rather than thinking about anything, just watch thoughts float by. Then go deeper into the awareness of who you are beyond all of these thoughts, sensations and feelings. Be awareness itself.

* Set your intention to bring more awareness into your life. Pause throughout the day to be more aware, to notice what is going on in and around you. Be aware of judgments and where they are coming from. Be conscious of anything you are holding onto or trying to control. Observe your reactions with neutrality. As you do this see if you become more peaceful and empowered.

Interview with Zila Kahn, Sufi Singer

by Moumita Chakrabarti, Reporter

What does success mean to you?

While it is true that learning and knowledge results in success, I believe that true success comes when one can achieve internal peace. Even, according to the Vedas, in the end we should endeavour to find ‘peace within’. I am happy to be considered a successful Sufi artist as long as I feel peace within me.

What is your greatest strength?

My greatest strength is my power to overcome all obstacles that come my way and make the best use of all that I am blessed with — my lineage, my voice, aesthetics. ..I am proud to be the only woman in my family to have become an artist. I have fought for the empowerment of women and my father helped me break the barriers of culture. He gave me the platform to perform, making me what I am today.

What are your stress busters?

Singing and listening to music. Good music always relieves me .

God to you is...?

To me God is within us. We should try to finetune our sensibilities and celebrate the ‘Divine Human Being’ that He has created.
"I Love You" in many languages.

"Be the change you wish for me to be ... this is my wish to you."

WE ARE ALL ONE!

I believe every person has within themselves inexhaustible reserves of potential they have never even come close to realizing.

I believe each person has far more intelligence than they have ever used.

I believe each person is more creative than he or she has ever imagined.

I believe the greatest achievements of your life lie ahead of you.

I believe the happiest moments of your life are yet to come.

I believe the greatest successes you will ever attain are still waiting for you on the road ahead.

And, I believe through learning and application of what you learn, you can solve any problem, overcome any obstacle and achieve any goal that you can set for yourself.

Inner Child

The Inner Child refers to your emotional body. Carl Jung called it the 'Divine Child' Emmet Fox called it the 'Wonder Child'. Charles Whitfield called it the 'Child Within' Some psychotherapists call it the 'True Self' Our personalities emerge as a result of our genetic code, DNA, or inherited characteristics, and the environment in which we experience. Childhood is dictated by those who raise us and often causes scars that will take years to heal.. For the most part, our issues go back to childhood and what impacted on our emotional and physical bodies at that time~ The inner child remains with us all of our lives. We are all children at heart, innocently searching for our meaning in life.

Inner Child Types

The Playful Child

That self that is naturally playful, creative, spontaneous and fun loving child. This self longs to play. Many of us have forgotten how to do this without guilt or anxiety that as adults we must be doing something that is worthwhile.

The Spoiled Child

That part of us wants what they want and they want it now, and if they don't get what they want, they throw temper tantrums!

The Neglected Child

The child self that was always left alone without much nurturing and love. They don't believe they are lovable or worthwhile. They don't know how to love. They are depressed and want to cry.

The Abandoned Child

This child self has been left in some way like divorce or adoption or just left because the parents were kept busy working. They are always fearful that they will be abandoned again and again. This part of the self is starving for extra attention and reassurance that they are safe and okay~ This self is very lonely.

The Fearful Child

This part has been overly criticized when they were small. Now they are anxious and are in panic much of the time. They need lost of encouragement and positive affirmations.

The Unbonded Child

This Inner Child never learns to be close to anyone. They are isolated. Intimacy feels alien and scary. Trust is a basic issue!

The Discounted Child

This is a part of the self that was ignored and treated as though they did not exist. They don't believe in themselves and need lots of love to assist and support them.

The Spiritual Child

This part of the self searches for answers from higher realms. The final result of healing the Inner Child - is balance within Oneself and being able to give and receive LOVE.

How To Change

by Louise L. Hay

I love "how to's." All the theory in the world is useless unless we know how to apply it and make a change. I have always been a very pragmatic, practical person with a great need to know how to do things. The principles we will be working with at this time are:

* Nurturing the willingness to let go
* Controlling the mind, and
* Learning how forgiveness of self and others releases us.

Releasing the Need - Sometimes when we try to release a pattern, the whole situation seems to get worse for a while. This is not a bad thing. It is a sign that the situation is beginning to move. Our affirmations are working, and we need to keep going. Examples:

* We are working on increasing prosperity, and we lose our wallet.
* We are working on improving our relationships, and we have a fight.
* We are working on becoming healthy, and we catch a cold.
* We are working on expressing our creative talents and abilities, and we get fired.

Sometimes the problem moves in a different direction, and we begin to see and understand more. For example, let's assume you are trying to give up smoking and you are saying, "I am willing to release the need for cigarettes."

As you continue to do this, you notice your relationships becoming more uncomfortable. Don't despair, this is a sign of the process working. You might ask yourself a series of questions like: Am I willing to give up uncomfortable relationships? Were my cigarettes creating a smoke screen so I wouldn't see how uncomfortable these relationships are? Why am I creating these relationships? You notice the cigarettes are only a symptom and not a cause.

Now you are developing insight and understanding that will set you free. You begin to say, "I am willing to release the need for uncomfortable relationships."

Then you notice the reason you're so uncomfortable is that other people always seem to be criticizing you. Being aware that we always create all of our experiences, you now begin to say, "I am willing to release the need to be criticized."

You then think about criticism, and you realize that as a child you received a lot of criticism. That little kid inside of you only feels at home when it is being criticized. Your way of hiding from this had been to create a "smoke screen".

Perhaps you see the next step as affirming, "I am willing to forgive."

As you continue to do your affirmations, you may find that cigarettes no longer attract you, and the people in your life no longer criticize you. Then you know you have released your need. This usually takes a little while to work out. If you are gently persistent and are willing to give yourself a few quiet moments each day to reflect on your process of change, you will get the answers. The Intelligence within you is the same Intelligence that created this entire planet. Trust your Inner Guidance to reveal to you whatever it is you need to know.

Exercise: Releasing the Need - In a workshop situation, I would have you do this exercise with a partner. However, you can do it equally as well using a mirror, a big one, if possible. Think for a moment about something in your life you want to change. Go to the mirror and look into your eyes and say out loud,

"I now realize that I have created this condition, and I am now willing to release the pattern in my consciousness that is responsible for this condition."

Say it several times, with feeling. If you were with a partner, I would have your partner tell you if he really thought you meant it. I would want you to convince your partner. Ask yourself if you really mean it. Convince yourself in the mirror that this time you are ready to step out of the bondage of the past. At this point many people get scared because they don't know HOW to do this releasing. They are afraid to commit themselves until they know all the answers. It's only more resistance. Just pass through it. One of the great things is that we do not have to know how. All we need is to be willing.

The Universal Intelligence or your subconscious mind will figure out the hows. Every thought you think and every word you speak is being responded to, and the point of power is in this moment. The thoughts you are thinking and the words you are declaring at this moment are creating your future.

Your Mind Is a Tool You are much more than your mind. You may think that your mind is running the show, but that is only because you have trained your mind to think in this way. You can also untrain and retrain this tool of yours. Your mind is a tool for you to use in any way you wish. The way you now use your mind is only a habit, and habits, any habits, can be changed if we want to do so, or even if we only know it is possible to do so. Quiet the chatter of your mind for a moment, and really think about this concept:

YOUR MIND IS A TOOL YOU CAN CHOOSE TO USE ANY WAY YOU WISH.

The thoughts you "choose" to think create the experiences you have. If you believe that it is hard or difficult to change a habit or a thought, then your choice of this thought will make it true for you. If you would choose to think, "It is becoming easier for me to make changes", then your choice of this thought will make that true for you.

Controlling the Mind - There is an incredible power and intelligence within you that is constantly responding to your thoughts and words. As you learn to control your mind by the conscious choice of thoughts, you align yourself with this power. Do not think that your mind is in control. You are in control of your mind. You use your mind. You can stop thinking those old thoughts. When your old thinking tries to come back and say, "It's so hard to change," take mental control.

Say to your mind, "I now choose to believe it is becoming easier for me to make changes."

You may have to have this conversation with your mind several times for it to acknowledge that you are in control and that what you say goes. The Only Thing You Ever Have Any Control of Is Your Current Thought Your old thoughts are gone; there is nothing you can do about them except live out the experiences they caused. Your current thought, the one you are thinking right now, is totally under your control.

Example: If you have a little child who has been allowed to stay up as late as she wishes for a long time, and then you make a decision that you now want this child to go to bed at 8:00 every night, what do you think the first night will be like? The child will rebel against this new rule and may kick and scream and do her best to stay out of bed. If you relent at this time, the child wins and will try to control you forever. However, if you calmly stick to your decision and firmly insist that this is the new bedtime, the rebellion will lessen. In two or three nights, the new routine will be established. It is the same thing with your mind. Of course it will rebel at first. It does not want to be retrained. But you are in control, and if you stay focused and firm, in a very short time the new way of thinking will be established. And you will feel so good to realize that you are not a helpless victim of your own thoughts, but rather a master of your own mind.

Exercise: Letting Go - As you read this, take a deep breath, and as you exhale, allow all the tension to leave your body. Let your scalp and your forehead and your face relax. Your head does not need to be tense in order for you to read. Let your tongue and your throat and your shoulders relax. You can hold a book with relaxed arms and hands. Do that now. Let your back and your abdomen and your pelvis relax. Let your breathing be at peace as you relax your legs and feet. Is there a big change in your body since you began the previous paragraph? Notice how much you hold on. If you are doing it with your body, then you are doing it with your mind.

In this relaxed, comfortable position, say to yourself,

"I am willing to let go. I release. I let go. I release all tension. I release all fear. I release all anger. I release all guilt. I release all sadness. I let go of all old limitations. I let go, and I am at peace. I am at peace with myself. I am at peace with the process of life. I am safe."

Go over this exercise two or three times. Feel the ease of letting go. Repeat it whenever you feel thoughts of difficulty coming up. It takes a little practice for the routine to become a part of you. When you put yourself into this peaceful state first, it becomes easy for your affirmations to take hold. You become open and receptive to them. There is no need to struggle or stress or strain. Just relax and think the appropriate thoughts. Yes, it is this easy.

Physical Releasing - Sometimes we need to experience a physical letting go. Experiences and emotions can get locked in the body. Screaming in the car with all the windows rolled up can be very releasing if we have been stifling our verbal expression. Beating the bed or kicking pillows is a harmless way to release pent-up anger, as is playing tennis or running.

A while ago, I had a pain in my shoulder for a day or two. I tried to ignore it, but it wouldn't go away. Finally, I sat down and asked myself, "What is happening here? What am I feeling?" I realized, "It feels like burning. Burning... burning... that means anger. What are you angry about?" I couldn't think of what I was angry about, so I said, "Well, let's see if we can find out." I put two large pillows on the bed and began to hit them with a lot of energy. After about twelve hits, I realized exactly what I was angry about. It was so clear. So I beat the pillows even harder and made some noise and released the emotions from my body. When I got through, I felt much better, and the next day my shoulder was fine.

Stepping Stones on the Spiritual Path

by Lynn Claridge

A Spiritual Path is the awakening of a major occurrence in your life because it reveals a purpose for existence. To solve life’s labyrinth, to see the marvel in everyday experience, fulfill the soul’s craving for union, and ultimately find one’s way home is the true meaning of your spiritual awakening that leads you to your spiritual path.

Here are nine steps to help you on your spiritual path.

Self control - Means not depending on sense experiences or the default influence of past habits, one can exert true free-will and experience the inherent happiness of the soul. Whereas the norm is to act based on what one is accustomed to doing, rather than following one’s true wishes. A spiritually committed person throws out bad habits that offer temporary pleasure before ultimately bringing suffering and chooses the lasting satisfaction of the spirit found through self-control.

Humility - Your spiritual path and your spiritual awakening is cultivated by the willingness to learn and show understanding, striving for the well-being of others and contributing to the environment by setting an admirable example without speaking of one’s greatness. Once one realizes that the self is something far beyond the body, and that the soul is a microcosm of the greater Spirit, one acts with the intention of being a vessel for this benevolent force to express itself. Rather than taking credit for good actions, it is possible to present successes as offerings to the divine aspect of the self, holding gratitude rather than pride for the attributes and achievements. When your thoughts become centered on the welfare of others, you have reached true manifests.

Selfless unconditional love - Love is the driving attractive force that gives life and purpose to existence. Spiritual Master Sri Yukteswar said that ordinary love is selfish and based on personal desires and gratification, while divine love is boundless, changeless, and unconditional. Spiritually brings harmony with nature and other people, loving equally all humanity and holding compassion indiscriminatel..y regardless of creed, nationality, deed, or any other boundary. Love entails great freedom, but comes only when the mind is quiet and selfless. Only love, mercy and goodwill developing in each individual can bring peace and stability at both a personal and global scale.

Calmness and concentration - A spiritually developed person has formed great powers of concentration to accomplish their goals. If one compares the true self to the bottom of a lake, it is only visible when the ripples of thoughts have subsided and the water is tranquil. If the water is muddy or disturbed, the bottom cannot be seen. Events, memories, concerns, and desires all try to intrude ceaselessly throughout a person’s day. If your thoughts are strongly attach to your emotions, they are even more difficult to let go. Concentration and meditation techniques train the mind to prevent restless thoughts from clouding and obstructing the experience of one’s true spiritual path.

Non-attachment - Part of spiritual awakening is mental freedom from possessions. By practicing non-attachment, one can enjoy things and perform material duties with a sense of service rather than of personal gain. The ego wants to cling to objects, ideas, youth, and other aspects of worldly experience; by letting go of these things gracefully when they have served their time, inner peace becomes strengthened.

Intuition - Intuition is a resolute, unfailing source of wisdom and guidance to one who is receptive to its subtle advice. When one taps into this resource by surrender and daily meditation, one is able to hear and trust what the right course of action is to fulfill his or her best interests. Everyone has this quality and with increasing awakening and clarity, it becomes a fountain of growing insight and security.

Self-Knowledge - Those committed to a spiritual path constantly examines themselves in order to make progress and implement necessary changes. Spiritual teacher J. Krishnamurti asserts that without knowing who one really is, there is no starting point for right thought so there cannot be transformation. By being aware in each present moment of one’s thoughts, intentions, and desires, one can begin to chisel away unwanted personal qualities and give life to new traits that lead to triumph over oneself.

Happiness - Everyone strives to be happy. One becomes devoted to the spiritual path ultimately to find an unchanging peace and bliss that is elusive in material things.

Freedom - In the end, one is individually responsible for his or her own habits, mistakes, and resolutions. Once your greater self is found in the soul with devotion and faith, one attains freedom and life is truly beautiful. The Bhagavad Gita says, “Unattached to the sensory world, the yogi experiences the ever-new joy of being. His soul engaged in the union with Spirit, he attains indestructible bliss.”

Predict the Future by Creating It

by Enoch Tan

The Future is created by all the thoughts of Man in the present. Astrology helps us to foretell the future because what happens in the world of thoughts has its corresponding expression in the arrangement of the universe. Everything follows a system of cause and effect. Therefore what happens in the present will follow a perfectly orderly path that results in what the future will be like.

The truth about Astrology is that the stars do not determine our fate, they merely reflect it. The same is true for any system of Divination.

Since Man's thinking can be changed from time to time, the state of the Future is in constant flux. That is why whatever that is foretold by Astrology does not always come true. It is not because the prediction is inaccurate. It was indeed something that was going to happen at the moment the stars were read, but the thoughts of the person that create the situation had changed. Therefore the Future was changed, what was supposed to happen at first has been overridden.

Thought creates Fate, Fortune and Destiny. Therefore when thought is changed, destiny is changed. When thought is fixed, destiny is fixed.

The universe is the manifestation of the universal mind. The universal mind communicates with us through the universe. The universal mind knows our future by what we think in the present. It always feedback the would be results of our thoughts back to us through signs. The universal mind is our guide and counsel. By listening to its divine intelligence, we are given second chances to change course when necessary.

Since the future is in constant flux, the universe is also in constant flux. When our thoughts change, the arrangement of the stars will also change. When you change your appearance, your reflection in the mirror will also change. This explains why when you take a second reading, it will differ from the first. This is why the features on your face and the lines on your palm will change when you change your mind. The reading of your fortune from these areas also changes.

Your inner consciousness is reflected by the outer world of the material. This is the nature of the universe. This is the understanding that makes sense of all these things that people have been confused about.

The problem with Astrology and other systems of divination is the misconceptions that people have about them. When they think that negative readings about their future are meant to happen, they begin to focus on it and expect it to happen. In so doing, they seal their own fate and fulfill their own prophesy.

Those who know the Truth are above such systems because they can reshape reality and transform the future anyway they desire according to the infinite source of power that resides within them. The individual mind working in harmony with the Universal Mind has the highest Authority of power over all things.

Everyone is creating the future with his or her thoughts. If you are not in control of your thoughts, it means you are controlled by others and they are creating your future for you. You must take charge of your own mind in order to live your destiny. You do not need systems of divination to tell you your future. The best way to predict the future is to create it.

"Until you make the unconscious conscious,
it will direct your life and you will call it fate."
--Carl Jung

Getting Over It

by Pat Campbell

We all have (or have had) things from our past that haunt us. No matter what we do they seem to be there with us especially when we aren't being distracted by other people and events. Sometimes we deliberately keep ourselves busy to avoid thinking about our "ghosts" and "skeletons in the closet." But that is not the solution; it is just postponing the time when you are forced to deal with it.

Why do we continue to focus on things from the past? The answer is because we haven't learned the lessons that we were supposed to learn. All the drama in our lives occurs for one reason only - spiritual growth. There is always something to learn from each and every experience in our lives. When we fail to learn the lesson we end up stuck in the same little loop, experiencing the same problems or making the same wrong choices over and over. But the loop gets faster and more chaotic as it repeats itself.

Creating diversions for ourselves will not accomplish anything except to delay the inevitable. And if you get to the end of this lifetime without learning what you came here to learn, then you will keep reincarnating and having the same problems all over again. Even if you don't reach complete enlightenment in this lifetime, every lesson learned is one less thing to learn the next time around.

How do we avoid being stuck in a loop which is detrimental to our wellbeing, our health and possibly even our sanity? We have to learn the lesson. Once we realise what the lesson is and accept it, that's all we have to do. There is no big complicated procedure. Once we recognize it, it will fade away of its own accord.

Why suffer years and years of misery, grief and self admonishment! Do you like feeling sorry for yourself? I did a long time ago and I can tell you it doesn't accomplish a thing. You probably think you want others to feel sorry for you but believe me, they won't. They may feel pity for you but that is not the same thing at all. And some people might avoid you entirely because they don't want to be weighed down with your problems! You may believe you have control over your self inflicted misery but one day it might take control of you. Dealing with the source of your misery will not make your misery worse; it will cure it! But most people fail to realize that.

When we are spiritually awake, it becomes increasingly easier to see the lessons. Which is just as well because once we are serious about our spiritual life the lessons come more often. But they are minor challenges because we can recognise them easily and deal with them quickly. And each new lesson learned brings us closer to enlightenment.

The past is the past! It can't be changed; it can't be undone! Don't stay stuck there! Get over it and move on!

"Today is the first day of the rest of your life!"

This is a favourite quote of mine. Make this your motto and let the past stay where it belongs and begin your new life starting from today.

My 12 Step Program To Simplicity

by Dr. Wayne Dyer

Here are 12 very specific tools for simplifying your life. Begin using them today if you’re serious about hearing that ultimate call to inspiration.

Unclutter your life. You’ll feel a real rush of inspiration when you clear out stuff that’s no longer useful in your life:

If you haven’t worn it in the past year or two, recycle it for others to use. Get rid of old files that take up space and are seldom, if ever, needed. Donate unused toys, tools, books, bicycles, and dishes to a charitable organization.

Get rid of anything that keeps you mired in acquisitions that contribute to a cluttered life. In the words of Socrates, “He is nearest to God who needs the fewest things.” So the less you need to insure, protect, dust, reorganize, and move, the closer you’ll be to hearing inspiration’s call.
Clear your calendar of unwanted and unnecessary activities and obligations. If you’re unavailable for Spirit, you’re unlikely to know the glow of inspiration. God will indeed work with you and send you the guidance—and the people—you need, but if you’re grossly overscheduled, you’re going to miss these life-altering gifts. So practice saying no to excessive demands and don’t feel guilty about injecting a dose of leisure time into your daily routine.

Be sure to keep your free time free. Be on the lookout for invitations to functions that may keep you on top of society’s pyramid, but which inhibit your access to joyful inspiration. If cocktail parties, social get-togethers, fund-raising events, or even drinking-and-gossiping gatherings with friends aren’t really how you want to spend your free time, then don’t. Begin declining invitations that don’t activate feelings of inspiration.

I find that an evening spent reading or writing letters, watching a movie with a loved one, having dinner with my children, or even exercising alone is far more inspiring than getting dressed to attend a function often filled with small talk. I’ve learned to be unavailable for such events without apologizing, and consequently have more inspired moments freed up.

Take time for meditation and yoga. Give yourself at least 20 minutes a day to sit quietly and make conscious contact with God. I’ve written an entire book on this subject called Getting in the Gap, so I won’t belabor it here. I will say that I’ve received thousands of messages from people all over the world, who have expressed their appreciation for learning how to simplify their life by taking the time to meditate.

I also encourage you to find a yoga center near you and begin a regular practice. The rewards are so powerful: You’ll feel healthier, less stressed, and inspired by what you’ll be able to do with and for your body in a very short time.

Return to the simplicity of nature. There’s nothing more awe inspiring than nature itself. The fantasy to return to a less tumultuous life almost always involves living in the splendor of the mountains, the forests, or the tundra; on an island; near the ocean; or beside a lake. These are universal urges, since nature is created by the same Source as we are, and we’re made up of the same chemicals as all of nature (we’re stardust, remember?).

Your urge to simplify and feel inspired is fueled by the desire to be your natural self—that is, your nature self. So give yourself permission to get away to trek or camp in the woods; swim in a river, lake, or ocean; sit by an open fire; ride horseback through trails; or ski down a mountain slope. This doesn’t have to mean long, planned vacations that are months away—no matter where you live, you’re only a few hours or even moments away from a park, campground, or trail that will allow you to enjoy a feeling of being connected to the entire Universe.

Put distance between you and your critics. Choose to align yourself with people who are like-minded in their search for simplified inspiration. Give those who find fault or who are confrontational a silent blessing and remove yourself from their energy as quickly as possible. Your life is simplified enormously when you don’t have to defend yourself to anyone, and when you receive support rather than criticism. You don’t have to endure the criticism with anything other than a polite thank-you and a promise to consider what’s been said—anything else is a state of conflict that erases the possibility of your feeling inspired. You never need to defend yourself or your desires to anyone, as those inner feelings are Spirit speaking to you. Those thoughts are sacred, so don’t ever let anyone trample on them.

Take some time for your health. Consider that the number one health problem in America seems to be obesity. How can you feel inspired and live in simplicity if you’re gorging on excessive amounts of food and eliminating the exercise that the body craves? Recall that your body is a sacred temple where you reside for this lifetime, so make some time every single day for exercising it. Even if you can only manage a walk around the block, just do it. Similarly, keep the words portion control uppermost in your consciousness—your stomach is the size of your fist, not a wheelbarrow! Respect your sacred temple and simplify your life by being an exerciser and a sensible eater. I promise that you’ll feel inspired if you act on this today!

Play, play, play! You’ll simplify your life and feel inspired if you learn to play rather than work your way through life. I love to be around kids because they inspire me with their laughter and frivolity. In fact, if I’ve heard it once, I’ve heard it a thousand times: “Wayne, you’ve never grown up—you’re always playing.” I take great pride in this! I play onstage when I speak, and I’m playing now as I write.

Many years ago I was given a tremendous opportunity to appear on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. The man who took a chance on me, booking me even though I was an unknown at the time, was a talent coordinator named Howard Papush. It was my first big break, and I went on to appear on The Tonight Show 36 additional times. Now it’s my turn to say thank you to Howard. He’s written a wonderful book titled When’s Recess? Playing Your Way Through the Stresses of Life, which I encourage you to read. (Howard also conducts workshops that teach people how to play and have fun in life.) In the book, Howard shares this great quote from Richard Bach: “You are led through your lifetime by the inner learning creature, the playful spiritual being that is your real self.” I couldn’t agree more—by all means, get back in touch with your real, playful self, and take every opportunity to play! Notice how it makes everything so sweet, and so simple.

Slow down. One of Gandhi’s most illuminating observations reminds us that “there is more to life than increasing its speed.” This is great advice for simplifying your life—in fact, slow everything way down for a few moments right here and now. Slowly read these words. Slow your breathing down so that you’re aware of each inhalation and exhalation.

When you’re in your car, downshift and relax. Slow down your speech, your inner thoughts, and the frantic pace of everything you do. Take more time to hear others. Notice your inclination to interrupt and get the conversation over with, and then choose to listen instead. Stop to enjoy the stars on a clear night and the cloud formations on a crisp day. Sit down in a mall and just observe how everyone seems in a hurry to get nowhere.

By slowing down, you’ll simplify and rejoin the perfect pace at which creation works. Imagine trying to hurry nature up by tugging at an emerging tomato plant—you’re as natural as that plant, so let yourself be at peace with the perfection of nature’s plan.

Do everything you can to eschew debt. Remember that you’re attempting to simplify your life here, so you don’t need to purchase more of what will complicate and clutter your life. If you can’t afford it, let it go until you can. By going into debt, you’ll just add layers of anxiety onto your life. That anxiety will then take you away from your peace, which is where you are when you’re in-Spirit. When you have to work extra hard to pay off debts, the present moments of your life are less enjoyable; consequently, you’re further away from the joy and peace that are the trademarks of inspiration. You’re far better off to have less and enjoy the days of your life than to take on debt and invite stress and anxiety where peace and tranquility could have reigned. And remember that the money you have in your possession is nothing but energy—so refuse to plug in to an energy system that’s not even there.

Forget about the cash value. I try not to think about money too frequently because it’s been my observation that people who do so tend to think about almost nothing else. So do what your heart tells you will bring you joy, rather than determining whether it will be cost-effective. If you’d really enjoy that whale-watching trip, for instance, make the decision to do so—don’t deny yourself the pleasures of life because of some monetary detail. Don’t base your purchases on getting a discount, and don’t rob yourself of a simple joy because you didn’t get a break on the price. You can afford a happy, fulfilling life, and if you’re busy right now thinking that I have some nerve telling you this because of your bleak financial picture, then you have your own barrier of resistance.

Make an attempt to free yourself from placing a price tag on everything you have and do—after all, in the world of Spirit, there are no price tags. Don’t make money the guiding principle for what you have or do; rather, simplify your life and return to Spirit by finding the inherent value in everything. A dollar does not determine worth, even though you live in a world that attempts to convince you otherwise.

Remember your spirit. When life tends to get overly complex, too fast, too cluttered, too deadline oriented, or too type A for you, stop and remember your own spirit. You’re headed for inspiration, a simple, peaceful place where you’re in harmony with the perfect timing of all creation. Go there in your mind, and stop frequently to remember what you really want.

A man who personified success at the highest intellectual and social levels would hardly seem one to quote on simplifying our life, yet here’s what Albert Einstein offers us on this subject: “Possessions, outward success, publicity, luxury—to me these have always been contemptible. I believe that a simple and unassuming manner of life is best for everyone, best both for the body and the mind.”

Wow! I’d say this is pretty good advice, wouldn’t you?

Miracles Happen

by Elizabeth Pagayonan

Many people today are aware of the incredible power of the mind. It is comforting to know that we possess an inherent ability to create whatever we set our mind to. Every one of us has the capacity to tap into this inner resource at will, yet many still do not fully understand how to successfully harness it or where to begin when intending change. The question is how do we effectively co-create with this facet of our consciousness to achieve the results we desire?

The answer lies in the awareness of one’s thoughts and feelings. Consistently thinking the same thought over and over sends a strong message to the subconscious mind. Repetitious thinking eventually brings one to arrive at the conclusion that they are to receive whatever they have convinced themselves of. Belief is created and that belief is handed over to the subconscious mind. Each time a new belief is formed, it becomes the basis from which our subconscious mind executes all future action.

Belief is a powerful state of mind induced through repeated suggestion. Our beliefs energize our thoughts. When belief backs one’s thoughts, a strong magnetic force is created within the mind. This magnetic field attracts more thoughts that are similar in nature and equivalent physical experiences. Many of our existing beliefs are formed unconsciously from the time of our birth. Our consciousness operates unbeknownst to us from these core beliefs. The great news is that we can rewrite our beliefs at any given point in time through intention setting and repeated suggestion.

Creating new beliefs through repetition of affirmative orders can make the Law of Attraction work for anyone. When intending to create change or transformation in any area of life, it is important to find the best feeling and most positively stated words to describe the desired outcome that one is seeking. Deliberately repeating desired thought patterns throughout the day allows one’s new way of thinking to dominate the mind. Time for some more good news, as your new thought patterns begin to dominate your mentality, it becomes habit. This means that your desired way of thinking automatically surfaces into your waking mentality, making it EASY for you to focus on what you truly want in life!

Implementing new beliefs through repeated suggestion does require a certain degree of disciplined effort, but it can be FUN and EASY and the reward is well worth it. Imagine experiencing sustainable thoughts and feelings of sheer happiness and well-being! It is an amazing experience to be filled with positive energy as a reward for time well spent.

Belief is the starting point from which all miracles are created. Without belief, one cannot create or attract the things they desire. Belief needs to be present when intending to create desired results, for it is the fuel that backs every thought. Since one creates successful outcomes according to their level of belief, focusing on raising belief in the power of mind will boost ones ability to create and attract desired results with greater accuracy.

The following are some effective ways to strengthen belief:

• Deliberately suggest to your subconscious mind through repeated affirmative orders, your belief in its ability to attract to you the physical equivalent of the directed thought you impress upon it. Time must be spent each day directly communicating to your inner mind of your belief in its abilities. Engage the imagination for effective communication of your heartfelt thoughts in the form of words, images and aroused emotion.

• An English Proverb states “the eyes are the window to the soul”. Find a mirror, look directly into your eyes and speak out loud to the depths of your soul, where your deep inner mind resides. Speak of your admiration, love, respect, and appreciation of its worth. This is a very powerful technique. It will stir great emotion from the depths of your BEING.

• Intentionally arouse positive supporting emotions when repeating affirmations. All thought is birthed into existed by an emotional state. Strive to hold positive emotions of well-being as much as possible. Emotions are our internal guidance system. We sense through emotional well-being how aligned we are to our higher selves or source energy.

• Focus your desired intent of strengthening belief through the Intentional Scrapbooking Method™ to anchor your thoughts into physical shape and form. Taking the time to focus your intent in this way expresses commitment to your desired goal. This process aligns all four levels of BEING which strongly imprints the subconscious mind and activates the Law of Attraction. Your desires will only manifest as a result!

Strengthening belief in the power of mind will have you creating and attracting all the things you truly desire in life with ease and effortlessness... The journey of self-discovery is a process of becoming. It is on-going. Once a desired goal is fulfilled, one will always uncover more desires that serve to grow and expand the self to new heights. Believe in yourself, the creative potential of your thoughts and the power of your subconscious mind. Belief is the starting point from which all miracles happen. Believe in believing.

Spiritual Telepathy

by DL Zeta

The Key to the Fifth Dimension - You have grown used to navigating reality in a certain way. Your conscious mind is your "standard-issue tool" for moving through your daily life. Many of you have become quite adept at using this tool. Often, you know what to expect as you go through your day and may have automatic responses for many types of situations. In the New Time, this tried-and-true navigation tool will no longer function as it has in the past. Your conscious mind's roadmaps and signposts will no longer apply in the fifth dimension. Inside this new space, you are asked to adopt a new navigational system. This system is constantly changing and transforming so it is impossible for the conscious mind to "break the code" by developing new habits and patterns that allow it to navigate this space on "autopilot."

Spiritual Telepathy is Your New Navigation Tool - Navigating the fifth dimension requires a high level of awareness that paves the way for constant telepathic communication with your higher self. This spiritual telepathy is created by setting the intention to align with your higher self. As you harmonize with this high-....vibrational aspect of your being, you begin to receive frequent information downloads and guidance.

At first, you may not understand all that’s being downloaded into your consciousness. Becoming adept at translating intuitive downloads is like learning to speak a new language. In the beginning, you may only understand a few words, but as you persist in immersing yourself in the new language, it becomes easier to understand. Over time, you become increasingly fluent. As you flood your mind and consciousness with information contained in spiritual downloads, you naturally magnetize further downloads. In time, becoming fluent in the language of your soul allows you to develop a telepathic connection with your higher self. As soon as you formulate a question in your mind, the answer is downloaded into your consciousness.

The Nature of Spiritual Downloads - Receiving downloads of knowledge and information is nothing new. Answers to your questions have always arrived the second you formulated a question. In the past, it may have seemed some answers never arrived. In fact, all the answers arrived the second you asked them, but you were not always able to receive them. This often has to do with levels of receptivity.

As we have said, lack of skill in translating spiritual information is onereason some answers are not received. But receptivity plays an equally important role in understanding spiritual guidance. If a download arrives in a moment when you are less receptive, you may not be aware it has arrived. These less receptive periods may occur during times of stress, physical illness, exhaustion, emotional upheaval or extreme absorption into physical reality. A busy and chaotic mind is generally not a good "receiver" whereas a still and peaceful mind is an excellent receiver. You will likely move between these states during your day, but keep in mind that when you are seeking answers, it’s best to enter a peaceful state to receive them.

Optimal Receiving States - Optimal receiving times are moments when your mind is still, as during meditation, quiet contemplation and reflection; during times when you surrender and reach out for answers beyond your conscious understanding; during times when your health, vitality and life force energy are flowing and your body has a balanced (7.5) PH; during times when your heart and mind are open, when you are experiencing unconditional love, when you are experiencing gratitude, joy, absorbed in creativity and following your spiritual purpose. Focusing your mind through concentration is another technique, as is walking in nature or spending time near water. Even a shower can enhance your receptive ability.

If, after working with these techniques, you still have difficulty receiving guidance, examine if some part of you has reservations. These may be younger parts of yourself that need help understanding and embracing "unseen" dimensions of your existence. Sometimes you intuitively sense that an answer, if fully received, would trigger quantum changes in your present existence. You may draw back, feeling you aren't ready for such sweeping change. As the earthly manifestation of your higher self, you’re able to work with aspects of yourself that exist at all levels to bring about needed healing and understanding. As conductor of your orchestra of selves, you’re able to harmonize your consciousness to bring the laser focus needed to breathe life into your highest dreams and visions.

The Soul Partnership

By Jennifer Hoffman

Love is where we are from and where we are going, it is a reminder of Home and the blessing that we bring with us in every lifetime. Our soul’s memory of the unconditional love of Creator is there to remind us that we are always guided, supported, worthy and powerful. But something happens when we arrive on earth and we forget everything that we know about love and our journey to reconnection becomes a quest for love. And instead of healing our separation from Source, which really means that we remember that we are not separated at all, we seek to heal by trying to find love on earth. And rather than simply reconnecting from within, to the soul’s memory of love, we do it from the ego and from a material perspective. Since each of us is on this path, we are doing the same thing, healing by looking for love. And our healing journey is painful, disconnected because we try to reconnect to Creator through every person and situation we encounter, hoping that one of them will remind us that we are loved.

From the moment of our incarnation, when we are a spark of light in our mother’s womb, we need love to survive on earth. A baby who is not loved will not grow into an emotionally healthy adult; children who are not loved are angry and resentful. Adults who are not loved are depressed and sad. No matter to what extent our physical needs are met, if we are not loved and do not experience love in our life, we are dissatisfied, unhappy and unfulfilled. Our need for love is so great that we will go from one unloving experience to another, hoping that the next one will be the one that allows us to reconnect with the love we so desperately want. And yet, in this quest we forget to turn to the one source that will remind us of the love that is there, the soul.

Our journey of separation is coming to an end as we are at the end of this human cycle but we must still resolve the issue of love, of being in the calm, knowing place of love beyond fear, acceptance beyond judgment, having faith in a love that we cannot see or touch in the physical realm. This love requires faith and trust, a willingness to know that it is there no matter what is happening in the world around us. And that requires a huge leap of faith in a world that appears to reflect hatred, violence, fear and at times a complete lack of love, we are all bound together by a love that is infinitely present, continuously available and so much a part of our being that we can take it for granted. This love is present all around us, from the air that we each breathe freely, which sustains our lives, to the presence of everything that we need to meet our physical needs. We are reminded that we can merely ask and our needs will be met and we can learn to do that with everything but when it comes to love we get stuck.

We relate spiritual love and human love and yet they are so different. Spiritual love is vibrational and energetic, human love is emotional and intellectual. Spiritual love is infinite and omnipresent. Human love is limited by so many different parameters and conditional. Spiritual love is timeless and everlasting. Human love is limited through change and death. Spiritual love exists multi-dimensionally and transcends all boundaries, it is our birthright and ours by divine right. Human love exists in specific times and places, with certain people and not with others, it has many names and many permutations, we feel lucky when we have it and are sad when it leaves. Human love is based in the ego and as we bring heaven to earth we will also bring spiritual love into our human experience.

All of us share the pain that comes with forgetting that more than being loved by Creator, we are each a divine spark of love that originated from our Source. Love is the energy of the Universe, the glue that connects all of creation. Without love there would be no light and no darkness, no universe and no connection; there would be no Source and no Home. In our journey we look for love but we never realize that we have it because if we did not we simply would not exist.

We try to find love in each other so that we can remember what love feels like, to be part of that lucky group that has a love connection, whether it is with family, friends, an intimate partner, a successful job or financial abundance. While we may think that we receive love through romance, our search for love encompasses every aspect of life where we can feel valued, appreciated and powerful. By expanding our definition of love we have a greater understanding of how much we need and want love and how much we are willing to do to find and keep it. And our happiness, fulfillment and success in our healing journey depends on whether we believe that we have the love that we seek.

In our outward facing search for love, where we look for love in the world, what we find is our fears about love mirrored back to us. When we look for validation of worthiness of love from others, we find our fears mirrored back to us. So instead of connecting with the person who can love us unconditionally, we find the person who is just as unsure, confused and afraid as we are. The still, small voice within reminds us that we are loved but we want proof, a physical reminder that there is someone in the world who will love us and then we will be able to connect with the love within. As we know, this is what creates the pain and suffering that we experience because our outer world is merely a reflection of what is happening within us. And yet, even with that knowledge, we still look for love everywhere else and ignore the one place where it exists, and that is within.

Can we find the love we need in others? That answer is simply “no”, not until we are willing to connect to our own internal wellspring of love can we find love in the world. Do we believe that love exists in a world that appears to be without love? Yes, but we have to be willing to give love before we get love. Are we willing to take a leap of faith and believe in the existence of love so we can bring this energy to the world? That is a question that we must each answer for ourselves. It is part of our journey of reconnection and we do not have to wait to return to our Source connection to be “in love”, nor do we have to wait for a magical intimate relationship with a romantic partner to know that love is available to us. We are love, we exist in, through and because of love and we always have all the love we need. When we are able to find and connect to our love within we will each become a source of love for ourselves and the world and then the love we want will be available to us.

Living The Serenity Prayer

By Kevin Emory
Several months ago, a friend approached me with a question. If I were to get up in front of a large audience and speak about something I thought would make their lives better, what would that subject be? For the last several years of my teaching and speaking career, my first response would have been to say, “Empowerment.”

This time however, I looked at my friend and without missing a beat said, “The Serenity Prayer.”When he asked me why I would choose this subject, I told him that I had used the Serenity Prayer for almost 20 years in my spiritual coaching and counseling practice to help my clients.

In this article, I would like to explore the serenity aspect of the prayer. As often times is the case, when I begin to talk or write about something, I like to see what Webster’s Dictionary has to say about it.

One definition I found for the word “serenity” was, “A place of calmness and tranquility.” The question that brought up for me was, “Is serenity a place where we go or a state that we live within?” Rather than answering this question on my own, I decided to see what other people had to say. Many of the people I asked said that serenity is associated with acceptance, as in The Serenity Prayer: “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.” However when asked where they found the calmness and tranquility that defines serenity, some replied that when they did find it, it was when they meditated or chanted; or did yoga or T'ai Chi. For others, it came by listening to certain kinds of music. Some said that playing or singing music could also create that state of serenity. And then there are those that find serenity while cooking, knitting, or even shooting hoops.

Did you notice that all these things required the effort of setting aside a period of time and doing something? It was a place they went to or an activity they participated in. It was clearly not a state of being they experienced in their ordinary day-to-day activities.

Another definition I found for serenity referred to being free from stress or emotion; the absence of mental stress and anxiety. Again, a question arose in my mind. “Does that mean that serenity is only achievable when we are empty of emotions and thoughts?”

Even the possibility of eliminating emotions and thoughts made no sense to me. So I did what I do best and allowed my soul to take me to where the answer might lie, at least where it might lie for me. As often happens when I go into my intuitive self for guidance, I flashed on to something from my own past that guided me to an answer.

For close to twenty years when people ask me what I do for work, I tell them that I don’t do work I do joy. I do joy because about 90% of the time, I am in joy, and part of that joy comes from what I do that some may call work. I can tell them this because I realized that joy, in of itself, is not an emotion, but how fully you live, learn, and move through the emotions that you have at the time that you are having them. Now why would I bring up joy when I am speaking about serenity? Simple – because to be in joy is all about acceptance; accepting exactly where you are, and doing so fully and without judgment. This is the first thing that one prays for in the Serenity Prayer. Serenity is clearly tied to acceptance. So what then is acceptance? Often, we associate acceptance with giving up on something, turning the other cheek.

However, when I hear that, I think of a statement one of my channels, who comes through me when I trance channel, Simon Peter (St. Peter) made through me: “Sometimes you turn the other cheek and sometimes you stomp down on their foot so that they don’t do it again.”

Acceptance is about clearly seeing and being in the reality of any situation; not just thinking about how you would like for it to be or fear it might be. It also means dealing with the situation from that place of acceptance. We can accept something and still have unhappy emotions or thoughts about it. Frustration, anger or sadness don’t change our acceptance of a situation, they just are, and they make us feel a certain way, which we in turn also accept.

Living in serenity isn’t about having no emotions, no stress, or no thoughts but light and fluffy ones. It is all about acceptance. In the Serenity Prayer, we ask God to grant us the serenity to accept the things that we cannot change. Yet isn’t it the ability to accept that which you cannot change that leads to serenity?

The acceptance of what you are not willing to change, but know that you could change which can also bring serenity. It is possible to realize that we can change something, and at the same time decide that now is not the best time to change it. But sometimes, we tell ourselves that it is okay to leave things as they are, and then proceed to beat ourselves up over the choice.

If we cannot be in peace about living with something for the moment, then perhaps, we really can’t wait in serenity. Realizing this is the difference between timing and avoidance. If it is truly just timing, then you actually can be at peace with the choice, if you can’t than it is probably avoidance. In other words, one does not find serenity without acceptance, and acceptance brings serenity. One of the great spiritual paradoxes!

Acceptance in all forms is what brings one to live in the place of serenity. Some might even call it radical acceptance, and this is what makes it possible to not only “find” serenity in certain activities, but to live in serenity.

So serenity is not about living without, or in emptiness, but it is about living fully within all that life brings you, fully embracing all of your emotions and each situation as it appears, so that at the end of the day, you can joyfully accept that you are just are as you are, living in each moment.

We began by discussing how some people can find moments of serenity for themselves, but the most important question is how to bridge the gap between moments of serenity to a life of serenity? The answer to this question involves four steps:

1. Doing the things we know bring us serenity as often as possible.
2. Daily spiritual practices.
3. Getting out of fear and staying out of fear.
4. Living in the now.

It is as simple and easy as that, which is neither “simple” nor “easy,” but can be accomplished.

Can we really live in serenity? Better yet, can we live in serenity when we are living in a world that is fearful, judgmental and full of unknowns? Absolutely, in fact it is the only way we can live fully in this world.

Your Body Literally Glows With Light

by Dr. Mercola

The human body literally glows, emitting a visible light in extremely small quantities at levels that rise and fall with the day.

Past research has shown that the body emits visible light, 1,000 times less intense than the levels which can be seen with the naked eye. In fact, virtually all living creatures emit very weak light.

To learn more about this faint visible light, scientists in Japan employed extraordinarily.... sensitive cameras capable of detecting single photons. Five healthy male volunteers in their 20’s were placed bare-chested in front of the cameras in complete darkness in light-tight rooms for 20 minutes every three hours.

The researchers found the body glow rose and fell over the day, with its lowest point at 10 AM and its peak at 4 PM, dropping gradually after that. These findings suggest there is light emission linked to the body clock, most likely due to how metabolic rhythms fluctuate over the course of the day.

Faces glowed more than the rest of the body. This might be because faces are more tanned than the rest of the body, since they get more exposure to sunlight.

Dr. Mercola's Comments:

Gone are the days when words like “life energy” and “aura” were relegated to a few books in a tiny section of some New Age store. Today, scientists across the world are investigating the energies that propel, and likely even rule, life itself and hence have profound impact on your health.

Eastern medical traditions have operated on this premise for thousands of years, but Western medicine in its myopic focus on dissected parts has been slow to adapt these ancient truths.

Energy Medicine – Ancient Knowledge Gets a Facelift

There is an emerging trend of clinicians who recognize that a far more powerful approach to healing is one that is based on physics and not on chemistry.

Many natural health experts believe that your body is not only made up of tissue, blood vessels and organs. It’s also composed of energy, or chi as it’s called in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).

This energy is circulated through your body along specific meridians, and when points on your skin that correspond to certain meridians are manipulated, the energy circulation and your internal organs are affected. Acupuncture is one well-known modality used to manipulate the flow of your meridians, but there are others.

The term “energy medicine” and modalities such as meridian tapping techniques have become more and more widespread, even though conventional medicine still largely ignores it.

As mentioned in the article above, earlier research has confirmed that your body emits light that is 1,000 times less intense than what your naked eyes are sensitive to. (Some people, however, are able to see this emitted light or “aura,” and some can even distinguish colors.)

What’s really interesting about this study is that they discovered these light emissions appear to be linked to your body clock and the rhythmic fluctuations of your metabolism over the course of the day.

This suggests that you could detect medical conditions with the use of highly light-sensitive cameras.

"If you can see the glimmer from the body's surface, you could see the whole body condition,” said researcher Hitoshi Okamura, a circadian biologist at Kyoto University in Japan.

There are other devices that can accomplish a similar feat already, such as electrodermal screening, which measures your electrical skin resistance to gain information about your chi flow.
If an electrodermal screening finds that certain meridian points are out of balance there are numerous non-invasive ways, such as massage therapy, herbal medicine and homeopathy, to bring them back into homeostasis.

Your Biophoton Field Holds the Key to Your Health

Others have explained the existence of light and energy around your body in terms of a “biophoton field.”

Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt discusses this field in The Five Levels of Healing, which is based on a healing model developed some 12,000 years ago. This energetic model for health has influenced Tibetan medicine, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), and Ayurvedic medicine as well.

The existence of the biophoton field was scientifically proven by Dr. Fritz-Albert Popp in 1974.

Your physical health is dependent not only on what goes on inside of your body, but is also interconnected with and dependent on other non-physical levels of energy, such as the energy surrounding your body, called the biophoton field.

In highly simplistic terms, your biophoton field can be viewed as a highly sophisticated computer that processes, stores and retrieves information that is then used to regulate your biological processes.

It is known in biology that every cell in your body has over 100,000 biochemical reactions per second, all of which must be carefully timed and sequenced with each other. Many (mostly European) scientists have investigated the organizing principle behind this sophisticated dance.

Dr. Popp also proved that biophotons originate from your DNA and that they are laser-like in nature. He developed the biophoton theory to explain their biological role and the ways in which they help control your biochemical processes.

How Your Biophoton Field Regulates Your Physical Health

The DNA inside each cell in your body vibrates at a frequency of several billion hertz (which is unfortunately the same range at which modern cell phone communication systems also work).

This vibration is created through the coil-like contraction and extension of your DNA -- which occurs several billion times per second -- and every time it contracts, it squeezes out one single biophoton; a light particle.

That photon contains all the information on everything going on in your DNA at that moment. One single biophoton can carry more than four megabytes of information, and relays this information to other biophotons it crosses in the biophoton field outside your body.

All the photons that are emitted from your body communicate with each other in this highly structured light field that surrounds your body.

This light field also regulates the activity of your metabolic enzymes. This corresponds nicely with the findings in the study above that show your light field ebbs and flows along with your metabolic rhythm.

The information transfer on biophotons is bidirectional, which means your DNA sends information out on a photon, and on the same photon the information of all the biophotons from your body is broadcast back to your cells, and to your tubulin, which are light conductive molecules in your connective tissue.

The tubulin, in turn, receives the information-carrying light impulse and conducts it at the speed of light throughout your body, where it is translated inside each cell into activating or inactivating certain metabolic enzymes.

Have You Ingested Healthy Light Today?

A fascinating alternative practice that Dr. Klinghardt has started using, based on this premise, is to use tools that work with light to influence your biophoton field in beneficial ways.

For example, transmitting the information of nutrients in the form of light into your biophotons field can affect your body in the same way as eating the actual nutrient!

Biophoton research also puts a whole new spin on the impact of environmental toxins.

Mercury, for example, destroys your tubulins at extremely low concentrations..... Remember, tubulins are the light-....conductive molecules in your connective tissues, so by disrupting these all-important light transmissions from your biophoton field to your cells to your metabolic enzymes, mercury effectively disconnects the intelligent force that organizes your biochemistry.

All the more reason to avoid those thimerosal-laden flu shots!

Raw Food = Live Food = Healthy Light Particles

Biophoton research also explains the underlying principles of why it’s so vital to eat a diet of mostly RAW food.

As you know, without the sun it is virtually impossible for most life forms to exist. For example, we now know that without appropriate sun exposure, you will become deficient in vitamin D, which will have very far ranging consequences for your health. Vitamin D influences at least 2,000-3,000 genes (that we know of), and without sufficient amounts of vitamin D, your body becomes susceptible to a staggering amount of diseases.

But you can absorb sun energy via your food as well as through your skin (although this should not be confused with being able to alter your vitamin D status).

Dr. Johanna Budwig from Germany has stated that live foods are electron-rich, and act as high-powered electron donors and “solar resonance fields” in your body to attract, store, and conduct the sun's energy in your body.

The greater your store of light energy, the greater the power of your overall electromagnetic field, and consequently the more energy is available for healing and maintenance of optimal health.

Every living organism emits biophotons or low-level luminescence, and the higher the level of light a cell emits, the greater its vitality and the potential for the transfer of that energy to the individual who eats it.

Hence, the more light a food is able to store, the more nutritious it is. Naturally grown fresh vegetables, for example, and sun-ripened fruits, are rich in light energy.

The capacity to store biophotons is therefore a measure of the quality of your food.

I firmly believe it’s only a matter of time before these truths will become common scientific- and medical knowledge. You can help speed things up by sharing what you know with your family and friends.
